Greetings, I have Hamilton's too. John (William) born ca 1825 in Northern Ireland to Scotch Father and Irish Mother. Names are unknown. He emigrated to America in 1840. I thought I had likely candidates in County Armagh but could not find further information. I have tested for my Mitochrondrial DNA but have found nothing close yet. Can anyone point me to detailed information about the attainder of the Hamiltons in the 17th century, during the 1650s and 1690s? Thank you for your attention. Roy
It is a while since I have posted here. I would like to remind those interested in finding the location of all Civil Parishes and many Townlands in all counties in Northern Ireland and in Limerick that you can use my website: Administrative Divisions of Ireland which is located at http://ireland.kiwicelts.com/irishMap/ireMap.html. The site shows the Parish and Townland outlines overlaid onto Google Maps and so you can see where they are either on a road map or on the satellite image of the area. In many locations Google have high resolution imagery and so you can clearly see the roads, houses and fields, which often align with the maps, showing that the fields are still the same as they were in the early 19th century. For those interested in New Zealand Genealogy you may also be interested in my map and database of New Zealand Cemeteries http://fhr.kiwicelts.com/Cemeteries/NZ_Cemetery_Map.html which now includes all CWGC cemeteries around the world in which New Zealand servicemen are buried. -- Kind Regards Murray Christchurch New Zealand Visit us at KiwiCelts.com <http://kiwicelts.com> for ... * The only comprehensive list and map of New Zealand Cemeteries <http://fhr.kiwicelts.com/Cemeteries/NZ_Cemetery_Map.html> (now including many CWGC cemeteries around the world with NZ service burials) * Interactive Administrative District map of Ireland <http://ireland.kiwicelts.com/irishMap/ireMap.html> * Our Family History <http://family.kiwicelts.com>
