I have 4 or 5 Certificates I need to get out of Ireland and without having a credit card it is very hard to do. Banks in my area dont have international money orders, which makes matters worse. I will have to work around these problems, until I get into a bigger city to get the money orders I need. Author: ALBERTLEE93 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.ireland.tyr.general/6716.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello Clark, I can't help with that specific marriage, but hopefully I can add a bit. I have a John Rafferty(b abt 1794) married a Mary McGilley in 1833, Killeeshill Parish, County Tyrone, at the Catholic Church in Tullyallen. At least three of their children were baptized at this same church. They came to the US in 1844 via New Orleans, and settled in Hamilton County, Illinois. The records I have came from a church organization, quite a few years ago, however when I went back a year or so later for some more names, they no longer furnished that service, and had turned records over to a commercial organization that was too expensive just to go "fishing" for a name. I would bet that some church records exist, some where, but have no idea how to find them. I have a 'feeling' that my Raffertys did not originate at Tullyallen, but can find no record of this John Rafferty earlier than the marriage, and have no idea of his parents, or siblings. I hope these names and places might be some help for you. Regards, Al Lee Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
