I was going through all the messages left on the message board and I just about died when I saw your posting. I'm a Hagan as well and I've been searching for any information on his parents and sibilings for years. I was wondering if you ever found anything from your quest and if so if you would be willing to share what you found. I don't know if your interested in any family information from Thomas and his wife Mary down or not, but I would be more than willing to give you all the information I have collected over the past 22 years. I'll wait for your reply Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I am looking for John (B1810) and Sarah (B1815) Carlin who are from Strabane, Tyrone, Northern Ireland. I have info that shows they sailed on the Mary Stewart in 1847. My great grandfather, Hugh, was their son and he was born in 1840. I would like to find info on them. A birth, baptism, anything at this point. I believe that Sarah's maiden name may be McGill or McGelly. I found a baptism for a catherine Carlin and it listed the parents as John and Sarah Carlin and a maiden name of McGelly. When I was in Ireland in 2002 I talked to a Willie Carlin but he had no knowledge of my family of the name McGelly and suggested it could be McGill. Any help would be great, thanks. The Calendar of Wills lists George Semple, Lisnacreight, 1851. He is possibly my gg grandfather. I am looking for further information. Might there be a death notice in one of the newspapers of the time? Is Lisnacreight a townland? Regards, Virginia

I had found some records when I wasn't a 'member'. How do I find the birth record for my relative - Peter McGinn, born c1870, probably Tyrone? When I try to search, now I have a card, I get hundreds of misdirects. Thank god I only spent 5 pounds. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. This is my husband's line. What we do know so far is that Mary Jane Davidson was born in Ireland. She died in Glasgow, Scotland at the age of 71, on Mar. 5, 1929, making her born abt. 1858. She was the daughter of John and Bridget McDuff Davidson of Ireland. That is the only Davidson names I have. I am so sorry. I wish I knew more. My husband was born in Glasgow, but came to the states in the '60's and we met and were married in 1970. We live in Hays, Kansas, so doing any research on his side has been very slim. He does have a sister who just moved back to Scotland and I am hoping that she will want to do some research. She has been widowed twice and so when her 2nd husband died in 2007 in Vancouver area, she decided a couple months ago to go back to her homeland country. My e-mails are not reaching her yet. Joseph Mulholland is as far as I have. If you want you can reach me at: emacdonald@media-net.net Thank you so much for contacting me. The records that I was able to retrieve by doing census and ship searches narrowed down his departure from Glasgow around 1888-1890, his name was James Haughey and he came to the US. Do you know if any of your family emmigrated here around this time? Originally I had thought he was from Armagh or Tyrone- but none of my searches from the last two years have pointed in that direction. I just assumed the ship 'swung' from Ireland over to Glasgow :)... but now after reading these posts if this makes more sense, the names match and the dates.
