He married Sarah Jane Trimble Nov 1,1862, she was born Aug 2, 1838 in Co Tyrone and died 1915 in Leiters Ford, Indiana. Truxell. Another brother, Robert arrived later evidently born 1829 in County Tyrone, married jane Taggert on Sep 19, 1863 in Greene Co, Ohio, Jane ws born in Ireland. They had Davidson House Hotel. Janes parents were Thomas Taggert and mother wa! s Martha Kingsburn b1818, d 1884. 3. Hi Frank Trillick is certainly in Co Tyrone. I checked out Cabragh on PRONI site to make sure and it is listed as being in Kilskeery Parish in Co Tyrone. However when I googled 'Cabragh, Trillick' I got a link to a planning application for Cabragh under Co Fermanagh. Because of this I checked the 1901 census index for Co Fermanagh but they are not on it. I dont have access to the Co Tyrone index, unfortunately. Cheers Theresa

    1. [NIR-TYRONE] Eglish Catholic Church Graveyard, Clonfeacle Parish, McGrady
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: LaurelBaty Surnames: McGrady Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.ireland.tyr.general/6738/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Does anyone know of someone in Clonfeacle Parish, County Tyrone who would be willing to take photographs of several McGrady tombstones located at the Eglish Roman Catholic Church graveyard near Roan? I would be happy to pay for this service. I am interested in the graves of Owen McGrady (died 1792, age 86), Francis McGrady (died 1778 age 50) and Bryan McGrady died 1744 (age 70). I am also interested in a photo of the grave of Patrick McGrady who was buried in Old Clonfeacle graveyard, Tullydowey, and who died in 1746 at age 66. I would like to correspond with any McGradys still living in County Tyrone and anyone studying the McGradys of County Tyrone. My earliest known McGrady ancestor, Patrick McGrady, came to America in 1838 and was born in County Tyrone about 1826. His death certificate states that his father's name was James McGrady and his mother was an unknown Larkin. I found McGradys in the Caledon estate papers (PRONI D2433) in the townlands of Cadian (Patrick and Judith McGrady held a lease here from 1794 to at least 1835) and Drumnamoles, parish of Clonfeacle (Henry, Thomas, and James McGrady held leases here from 1794 to about 1829), and also a James McGrady in Reskmore, Donaghmore parish, County Tyrone. In the 1901 Irish Census there is still a McGrady family living at Cadian: John McGready, age 60, born County Tyrone, Roman Catholic, farmer Catherine McGready age 50, wife Mary Anne McGready age 17 daughter Peter James McGready age 15, son Patrick McGready age 13 son Michael McGready age 10 son John McGrady was married to Catherine McVeigh June 6, 1882 at the Eglish Roman Catholic Church and his Civil marriage record states that his father was named James McGrady--could he be a brother to my Patrick McGrady? Author: RonaldDale100 Surnames: Dale Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.ireland.tyr.general/6737/mb.ashx Message Board Post: In researching Irish records I note that in a number of cases the surnames Dale and Deal are both the same people. Dale and Deal were pronounced the same way--like stake and steak or brake and break and therefore were recorded depending on the spelling preference of the recorder. An "S" was often added so you can have a John Deals baptising a James Deal and a Sarah Dale and then being finally buried as John Dales. I descend from Dales from County Derry and have just submitted my DNA for analysis. Family legend suggests that the Dale/Deal/Dales of Ireland all descend from four Dale brothers who came to Ireland ca 1690 and fanned out to Derry, Down, Armagh, and Antrim. I would be interested in contacting any Dale descendents who trace back to Ireland and am particularly interested in any who have had their DNA done or who are anticipating having it done, Ron Dale Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. [NIR-TYRONE] Administrative District Map upgrade
    2. Murray
    3. I have just updated my webpage Interactive Administrative District map of Ireland <http://ireland.kiwicelts.com/irishMap/ireMap.html> to make it easier to use (at least I hope that it will!) - you may need to press F5 to update the page. As each different browser and screen can effect what you see, if anyone has any issues could you please let me know as soon as possible (I would love to get your feedback regardless!). --------------------- As well as upgrading the user interface I have added the ability to see two versions of the civil parishes (in both the maps and lists of townlands): as they were in the 1851 census and as they were in the Griffith Valuation. In the process of doing the valuation, Griffith decided to 're-engineer' parishes, apparently to join outlying townlands into their surrounding parishes and to balance populations. As he had been previously told not to do this, he was quickly stopped. Previously I thought that the changes he made were restricted largely to Antrim and Down, but in updating the database for Fermanagh I found that he had also made significant changes there too. It would appear that he started work on a number of fronts and so it is possible that such changes were made in many counties. The website now lists two civil parishes: Civil Parish (1851 Census) and Civil Parish (Griffith Valuation), the maps for each are drawn in different colours to allow you to easily see changes, and the actual townlands are listed for each type. So far I have only updated Fermanagh and so elsewhere the Civil Parishes (until I update each of the other counties) are listed as being from the 1851 census version even if they are not. If I am aware that the two versions are different however, the notes in the pop-up window usually indicate what changes were made. -- Kind Regards Murray Christchurch New Zealand Visit us at KiwiCelts.com <http://kiwicelts.com> for ... * The only comprehensive list and map of New Zealand Cemeteries <http://fhr.kiwicelts.com/Cemeteries/NZ_Cemetery_Map.html> (now including many CWGC cemeteries around the world with NZ service burials) * Interactive Administrative District map of Ireland <http://ireland.kiwicelts.com/irishMap/ireMap.html> * Our Family History <http://family.kiwicelts.com>

My great-grandmother Hannah and your great-grandfather Patrick were first cousins, Patrick's father Frank and Hannah's father Arthur being two brothers. I live in Omagh and have been researching the Owens family for quite some time now, and even got a lot of info from a cousin Sharon Owens who lives in the US. Her great-grandfather was Paddy "Bantown" Owens, sister of my great-grandmother Hannah; Paddy was married to Ellen Nugent (daughter of Pat Nugent & Ellen McCristal). I have counted a total of eight generations of the Owens family; me & Sharon Owens are from the sixth generation. The Owens of Beragh originated from Tempo, and from what I understand, the first Owens man to come to Beragh was a Francis Owens, born 1759, died 1834, who married a woman called Allas ("Ailish") Mullen, and they had at least two sons: Patrick & Arthur. The Owens's in Fintona are also related but I don't know exactly how other than they, like the Beragh Owens's, originated from Tempo. Me and Sharon are great-great-great-grandchildren of Patrick Owens, who married Mary McCrystal. I noticed a lot of Owens married McCrystals, some of whom might have been related to them far out. Some of the Owens families who live in Drumduff, are descended from Patrick's brother Arthur, who married Alice Donnelly. The Owens who live up in Shane & Bantown are related through this line too, as are some of the Grimes and Montague families in Beragh. There are lots of different Owens families round Beragh and The 'Cross, very hard to connect them all up, though I have heard people say the name is not as common as it once was.
