    3. Hi I'm afraid I cannot help you personally with your adoption search, but there are a couple of agencies in Ireland who may be able to. First there is the Adopted Peoples Association (Ireland) whose website can be found here http://www.adoptionireland.com/register/index.html There is also the Adoption Authority of Ireland http://www.adoptionboard.ie/preferenceRegister/index.php I do hope you find who you are looking for. Author: mmdoherty Surnames: Cohoun, Colhoun, Barr, Doherty Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.ireland.tyr.general/145.562/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Not sure if this will get to you. I'm trying to trace any possible Cohoun/Colhoun connections in Buncrana, Donegal. My husband's great-grandmother, we believe, was named Sara(h) Cohoun, and she was born in Donegal in 1864/65. She married a butcher named Michael Barr, and they married and lived in Greenock, Glasgow, Scotland, where they had two girls, Sarah (my husband's grandmother) and Cecelia. Sarah Cohoun Barr died in childbirth, and Michael and the girls moved back to Donegal. He later remarried and had a family, but the girls shuttled back and forth between Donegal and Glasgow. Sarah married Edward Doherty in 1925 and raised their two boys in Paisley, Glasgow. Any connection to your Cohouns/Calhouns? I have found several references to other Abraham Littles - have no idea if any of them are related to me though, and no way of confirming anything from England. I have a hunch that his mother may have been called Kathleen (name of Abraham's daughter) O'Neil (middle name of his first born son and then his grandson).
