Is this not true? Put most simply there are two kinds of DNA test - yDNA which ONLY shows the male line and Mitchondrial DNA which ONLY shows the female line. So there is no way of proving, for example, your mother's father's line from anyone in your family. You would have to use a male member of your mother's brothers'(if any) families. Confused? Draw yourself a tree and look for the all male or all female lines. Those are the ones that can be researched via DNA at the moment. -- ==== Michael Lightfoot Canberra, Australia OPC Merther & St Clements, Cornwall see http://www.cornwall-opc.org michael.lightfoot@canb.auug.org.au ====
