Bev, I second Claire's remarks. I'm new to Irish genealogy. I also do Scottish, Cornish, and Welsh genealogy, and am just so amazed how each has such different records available, and different terms to learn, in addition to the usual historical background and language/spelling problems to sort out. The best thing about this hobby is not only do we learn about our ancestors, but we learn life lessons in how wonderful people are in sharing their time and effort to help others. I try to pass along that sharing attitude in helping others I met, remembering how in so many ways I've been helped by strangers who seem more like friends.
