I'm new to online genealogy and have been overwhelmed trying to track down information about my great-grandfather, John Geddes, who was born in Newcastle, co. Down, in about 1867.? He married Elizabeth Georgina Parnell (yes, that Parnell, although I'm not sure of the connection) Neill, probably in the late 1880s, although I'm not sure where.? They lived in Belfast by the time they emigrated to America in 1923.? His father's name was Joseph Geddes, who was a coachman somewhere in Newcastle.? Joseph's wife's name was Eliza Jane Hall.? Emerald Ancestors has proved useless in tracking them down, so I would appreciate any information anyone could give me, especially of Joseph and his wife.
