Notes for SAMUEL BOYD: Thomas' son Samuel married and had a son Thomas. His wife died and he married Jane Moore at Northumberland, Pennsylvania on September 2, 1799 in a ceremony "according to the rites prescribed by the Presbyterian church in America", by David Wiley. Two and possibly four of Samuel's ten children were born in Pennsylvania. Later Samuel moved to Virginia, then to Stark county, Ohio, then to Tuscarawas county, and finally to Holmes county. In the spring of 1847 he and several members of his family moved to Madison township, Davies county, Indiana, where he lived until his death on September 24, 1856. The older Boyds were all Presbyterians in religion and Jeffersonian democrats in politics. This Jane Moore is THOUGHT TO BE SISTER of the above Robert Moore. I am hoping that someone on this list will recognise Robert Moore and his family and be able to tell me where in Co Down they may have come form. As I AM HOPING THAT Samuel Boyd's father - Thomas Boyd family - may have come from the same district in County Down even though they appear to have been in the USA prior to 1763. Thank you.
