    2. Hi Sam, My Murdocks and related families and friends with other names came from the Killinchy area of County Down around the 1850s. Some settled in Arkansas and others on both sides of the Kentucky/Ohio border. In 1853 many of them formed up a wagon train and crossed the plains to California with a herd of cattle. I am trying to find more information about the migration by researching the families with names other than Murdock hoping to find a journal or history of the wagon train trip, but am not having much luck. Also looking for any information about their trip to this country and what other families might have helped them settle when they first arrived here. I am not aware of any Murdochs that were part of my family that settled in Chicago.
