    3. Hi Fiona: I just said that UHF as compared to Irish Tombstones was the lesser of two evils [or weevils]. As you know from your years of experience that Genealogy anywhere in Ireland is a "cottage industry" ..... and like a country full of horse traders from all calls and walks of life some horses are better than others and for the most part it comes with buyer remorse ...... that's why Americans look after the Passenger Lists and why Canadians became involved with our National Archives section and arranged to have the 1901 Irish Census digitized ... a process that was to have been completed by Dec of last year, but because a few horses assess got in the way down Dublin way, it won't be finished until 2009... the ubiquitous call for "more money" to turn a simple project into a "national hobby" because once it is completed it'll be free much to the general annoyance of a great many ......... when that is done and the UHF have their new premises then maybe I'll think of going back ..... right now the place over there is a mess [still] ..... if anyone is looking for real assistance I suggest the myriad local and small town libraries ... some of the Directors of the UHF are real good folks, many of them professionals and the only ones as result getting Govn't money to improve things, so my bet is on them so lets give them another year and see what happens ... so save your money for the time being ..... Hi Eric - thanks for your reply. I am surprised by your complimentary comments on UHF. I have found their records to be so full of errors and I never get a response from them when I ask for clarification. I also find their site search engine is geared towards scamming as much money out of you as possible for as little information as possible. If the other sites in Ulster pack it in them I really think we are all in trouble. I would like to see some organization that really cares about genealogy come to the fore. Fiona. ======= IGP Co. Personally I do not find this site [as below] helpful at all. If I knew what they wanted me to put in to get a reasonable result then I wouldn't need them in the first place. Much like the Representative Library of the Anglican Church in Dublin. Personally the UHF site is the best and with their new offices and reseach platform coming on-line next year, the rest of the sites in Ulster can pack it in. I've delayed my visit to Belfast for another year pending the new UHF libabry and research facility. Eric
