Hi, Responding to the name of McBurney in the subject line I thought it worthwhile to post the branch of my family tree which includes this Co Down name. Unfortunately I know very little about it as yet, as can be seen, but I have a trip to the GRO Belfast planned for June this year when I hope to be able to fill in the gaps. If anyone sees any connection please get in touch. I suppose that it is possible that people in generation 5 might still be around. For example in the published 2005 electoral roll I see one with the same name as Hamilton Edgar & Oswald Creighton living in Dromore. Perhaps just a coincidence or perhaps worth a letter to them. Any views about writing to possible descendants identified that way?
