Hi, I have a wedding certificate for my great grandparents , a Sarah McCullough and Thomas McNeany on 14 July 1873 in Seapatrick , my problem is that the father of Thomas is a Bernard McNenay ( spelled differently to that of Thomas on the certificate) .I have looked at the Griffiths Evaluation for 1863 and the nearest and only match I can find for Bernard is a Bernard McAnerney , who was living in Garvaghy and place name of Ballooly More, if any one is researching the McAnerney name or can offer any help in finding the wife of Bernard and any possible siblings for Thomas I would be most grateful. The father of Sarah McCullough was a Robert McCullough , though I am not sure if they originated from Co Down .Thomas was born in Banbridge , both him and Sarah being born about 1850. Regards Alan Williams
Allan. The error would be one of the thousands of mistakes made by clergy/officials found throughout the NI BMD data base. Going through parish records I have found so many that I have wondered what esle the clergyman might have had on his mind at the time. In my books these are the dad and his son. I would not look any further.
