Hi everyone, An article in our regional newspaper carried the announcement yesterday that historical BDM's for New Zealand were now available online. As I don't have any family that falls within the dates below I don't know how the site works or what information it offers. But from the article is says "The website would be useful to genealogists and people wanting historical birth, death and marriage information about their relatives. It includes details about births at least 100 years ago, stillbirths at least 50 years ago, marriages that took place at least 80 years ago, and deaths that happened at least 50 years ago or if the deceased s date of birth was at least 80 years ago". Births Deaths and Marriages was originally part of the Colonial Office. Births and deaths have been officially recorded since 1848. Marriages have been recorded since 1854.
