As an American--and without the best map of County Down to go by --I hope someone can assist me in understanding the Carryduff area. Is Carryduff an independent village, or a larger area comprised of several villages? I ask this in order to know if Carryduff research would be limited to parish records in one village, or a larger area, and if the latter, where I should be looking? In the US, our counties are broken down into townships, and towns within townships. But I'm unfamiliar with the geographical names of villages in/around the Carryduff. If Carryduff is a larger area with several villages within it, what are the names of the villages within that area? Or, is Carryduff an independent village?
