Gentle listers, The maps of the Belfast area seem to have been very popular. I've posted a lot of pictures of old Belfast on my Flickr site. Yes, in the collection that displays you'll see a number of pictures of my family. But the majority of the pictures are of such things as: * Belfast during the blitz * 4 images of the old St. Anne's * A few postcard images of Belfast in the early 1900s * A remarkable picture of Little York St. in 1887 * An image from the two block-long Grove St. in Sailortown from about 1922 with British soldiers standing guard. http://www.flickr.com/photos/andyairriess/sets/72157604322031931/ I hope you enjoy the images There are also some nice images on this Flickr group page called Old Belfast and Northern Ireland: http://www.flickr.com/groups/oldbelfast/pool/ Andy Airriess
Hi Andy, Thank you for more wonderful Irish pictures. When I looked at the photograph of Charles McCormick and his family, John McCormack the Speaker of the House (during Kennedy a few other presidents) came to mind immediately. I remember John McCormack because of the succession line after President Kennedy was assassinated . I have no idea where John McCormack's family came from but the resemblance between him and your Charles McCormick is striking.
