Hi all, I'm back after taking a long hiatus from this side of the family tree (my husband's side). Last week thanks to the 1911 census and the little gem "Civil Registrations 1845-1958" I've found more information in the 1 week then I had done after months of research. No the Civil Registrations don't appear to be complete yet....my husband was born in Banbridge in 1952 so technically should be on the list, but he isn't there....although I did find his mother and father's births....plus various grandparents and some great-grandparents. I would be very interested in contacting others with an interest in the above names or with an interest in the Benagh/Crobane/Dysart (Desert) area of Newry. This was a relatively small farming area and the families tended to intermarry. Also does anyone know of any online records for BDM s/Christenings/Marriages/Deaths pre 1845????? Or do I now have to rely on Parish Records? All this lot were Presbyterian/Unitarian. Oh and if anyone requires help with family who immigrated from Co. Down to Australia (particularly NSW) let me know as I know of a few places you can search records/indexes online. Cheers Kate
