Hi Owen I don't know if this is of any help but the site http://www.blaxland.com/ozships/ shows the Kate sailed from London on 3 Aug 1854 and landed in Sydney 18 Nov 1854. It also sailed from Plymouth on 7 Sep 1856 and arrived (port not shown) on 23 Dec 1856. You can find these by following the "Arrivals" link. It provides the source of the info, but you will need to decipher what these are. Hopefully they'll lead to the passenger list.
