    3. Hello again Thanks to Alma and Max for their replies. What type of info do you find on a death cert? Does it have parents/spouse and cause of death? Thanks again and all the best Jim Beattie

    3. Only Scottish death certs give the parents, if known, of the deceased.....Irish certs are the same as the English/Welsh certs....not a lot of use except for picking up a duaghter's married name if she per chance reported the death. ALso bear in mind that the reporting person did not always know the age etc of the deceased.... -------- Original Message -------- > Hello again > Thanks to Alma and Max for their replies. 3. Hello Jim, The info is - Date & Place of death; Name; Sex; Condition (spinster, bachelor etc.); Age; Rank, Profession or Occupation (labourer's child, farmer's wife, farmer etc.); Cause of death; Signature and Residence of Informant; When Registered; Signature of Registrar. No death certificate I have gives parents/spouse. Just in case you find any earlier death entries you may like to know that the LDS have filmed the Volume Registers for Deaths from 1864 to 1870, so you can hire the film from them at any LDS Familyhistory Library. Sometimes it's worth having a look at these films - you may find other family deaths in the same time period. Kind regards Alma ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim & Sherry Beattie" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, February 01, 2009 8:00 AM Subject: [NIR-DOWN] Irish BDMs: a bit long, sorry > Hello again > Thanks to Alma and Max for their replies.
