Debbye I searched the Marriage Index which LDS have online and found the marriage of William Wilson to Jane Adamson. (both indexed with the same ref. no.) It was registered at Banbridge in 1874 Vol. 16 Page 299. With these details you will be able to order a copy of the registration which will give you full details of the date of marriage, where the marriage took place, the names of their fathers etc. If you go to - http://www.groireland.ie/ you will be able to find how to order a copy. Hope this helps Joyce > > > Hello, > > I was wondering if anyone perhaps could check a marriage record that I > found indexed at Emerald Ancestors for William Wilson who married in 1874 > to a Jane. > > > > I'm searching for a marriage record of William Wilson who married a Jane > Adam or Adamson, daughter of James. Hello Joyce, Thank you so much for your help! I will do just that. According to William's WWI draft registration card (in the US), he stated his date of birth as June 2nd, 1875 in Gilford...I then found the birth record you found as well; which give me hope that William Wilson & Jane Adams[on] were his parents. (William's marriage record stated his father's name was also William) I also found, I believe, the will of Jane Wilson of Gilford available online at PRONI, and learned William may also have a brother John. I then found the will of John Wilson, of Whinny Hill, Gilford (dated 1920), but the will in not transcribed. One bit of the puzzle that doesn't quite fit is, Jane Wilson states property on Whinny Hill Gilford belonged to her father, James Adams...not Adamson. Therefore, I was tring to find perhaps a marriage record of William Wilson & Jane Adams[on]. Thanks again for all you help! Debbye Thanks for the explanation of your situation. Was your family in Ireland in 1901? Do you know the occupation of your William Wilson (senior and junior)? If I spot anything else that may help you I shall put a note on the list.
