    3. Irish World Apr 26 1890 DOWN Sad Drowning Case. An inquest was held in the town of Knockarney? on the body of a farmer, JAMES OHARE, aged 63 years, which had been found in the Newry Canal. Found drowned was the verdict of the Coroner's Jury. ALLEGED OUTRAGE NEAR LOUGHRIES A gun-shot was recently fired through the window of a cottier(?) house occupied by HUGH JOHNStON. Mrs Johnston, an old lady, was sitting at the fire when the shot was fired, the glass, etc, from the damaged window just passing over her head. CHAIRMANSHIP OF THE NEWTOWNARDS UNION For the first time in centuries a Catholic has been elected Chairman to this board. His name is JAMES P MURRAY, and he has the honor to be the only one in the Province of Ulster who holds such a position. JAMES BODY was elected Vice-Chairman and Mr MURDOCK Deputy Vice Chairman of the same Union. SUICIDE IN BANGOR WILLIAM HOPE MILLER died recently from self inflicted wounds. the deceased, who lived at EMMAVILLA (?) was a retired factory manager, and recently complained of not sleeping well, exhibiting however, no other signs of mental anxiety. Deceased had cut his throat from ear to ear. A verdict in accordance with the evidence was returned by the Coroner's jury.
