Irish World Apr 26 1890 DOWN Sad Drowning Case. An inquest was held in the town of Knockarney? on the body of a farmer, JAMES OHARE, aged 63 years, which had been found in the Newry Canal. Found drowned was the verdict of the Coroner's Jury. ALLEGED OUTRAGE NEAR LOUGHRIES A gun-shot was recently fired through the window of a cottier(?) house occupied by HUGH JOHNStON. Mrs Johnston, an old lady, was sitting at the fire when the shot was fired, the glass, etc, from the damaged window just passing over her head. Deceased had cut his throat from ear to ear. A verdict in accordance with the evidence was returned by the Coroner's jury.
