    1. [NIR-DOWN] Kelley/Kelly - Crozier

    3. I've been searching for the family of John Kelley/Kelly for 45 years. He was a seaman who was born in Bangor in about 1810. He married a widow, Mary Crozier, daughter of James Crozier of Tullyherron and Hillsborough, Co. Down. Mary's married name may have been McMullen and she was buried in her parent's plot in the Bangor Abbey graveyard. James Crozier, Sgt. Major of the Royal South Downshire Militia was very upset when his daughter married a lowly sailor and disowned his daughter but forgave her when she was ill and died in 1847. John's family in Bangor were weavers of "book" linen and he and his family lived above them. John and Mary's first child, Martha Jane Ingraham Kelley was born in Belfast in 1842 and son John R. Kelley was born in Bangor in 1845. John Kelly remarried and in 1850 he set up a home in Milwaukee and in the fall of 1851 he sent for his children and his wife Elizabeth. A few years later they moved to Cassell, Sauk Co., Wisconsin where the children grew up and Martha married. I'm hoping that there are more records available now than there were 10-15 years ago. Thanks, Carole
