I am just thrilled and so proud to announce to this list the publication of: THE MCCARTANS OF KINELARTY Irish Roots of Charles DeGaulle Nine Centuries of history, archives and family traditions by THERESE GHESQUIERE-DIERICKX in collaboration with SEAN MCCARTAN Thérèse is a descendant of Marie Angelique McCartan (1798-1852) and a near relative of Charles deGaulle. Sean is a well known to this list as a Northern Ireland family historian, researcher, speaker and genealogist, and the principal McCartan researcher worldwide. The book will be bilingual, French and English. Part 1: Records the early history of the McCartans in Ireland, giving details of recently discovered documents. Part 2: Gives an interesting perspective into the important role of the McCartan Wild Geese in France. There will be launches in Lille, Paris and probably Belfast.
