August 24 1901 Irish World New York News from Ireland Mr Alex McMullan, an extensive shipper of cattle, was found dead in his bedroom July 30 at Scadden House, between Downpatrick and Strangford. Deceased asked his wife to look after the workers, as he wished to remain longer than usual in bed. She did so, and returning to the house in about an hour, found him lying dead on the floor of the bedroom.
