We have just added some Royal Irish Constabulary records for men who were native to County Down. The dates are from January 1853-October 1853. So, the men were probably born in the early 1830's. Just so you will know what you are looking at, the RIC records include the date a man joined, his age and height. (We skip the height, but I can send the page if you find anyone) If he was married when he joined and the marriage date if he married after joining. It also gives the birth county for the wife. (Men did not serve in their home counties and seemed to get moved if they married.) The records show where the man was stationed. This is the part of the information that we are compiling.
