    1. [NIR-DOWN] Voyage of ship Elizabeth 1772
    2. Mike Boyd
    3. Do any list members know any more details the ship Elizabeth. It is said to have left Belfast 16 Nov 1772 for Savanah, Georgia, USA, with 190 passengers. It is said Andrew Boyd and his wife Janet Fleming and their 6 known children were on this ship. This Andrew Boyd was married in Kilmarnock and his 6 known children were also said to be born in Kilmarnock as well. A researcher on said that he came with a "mass of folks". In not sure what the term "MASS OF FOLKS" means. To me that would mean for than 8 people. So was it common for people from "southern" Scotland to go to "Irish" ports to get a ship to the USA? On the Boyd list were are trying to find the passenger list. At this stage, I have been told that "Samuel Kennedy....1772 John Kennedy....1772" came on this ship. Thank you Mike Boyd Brisbane, Aust.
