Weekly Irish Times June 6 1908 A Centenarian Voter Mrs Jane Newell, of Ballylough, Co Down, who attained her hundredth year in October, recorded her vote in the Local Government election at Kilmegan, Dundrum last week. Her intellect is clear, and she required less assistance in conveying her to her booth than others considerably her junior.

Seems Iam getting through to the list at last, but i cannot receive or get through to The county down genealogy list yet. Eddie Williams is still working on the website, a lot of changes have already been made, and a lot of updates put on it. He has made the website easier to access, cut the music of webpages and a host of other changes, he will be updating the website weekly with new material, as for myself, Iam finished doing lookups, all i want to do is pop in here, now and again. Raymond http://www.raymondscountydownwebsite.com PS, Thanks to Nan and Diane for the help.

Hello Listers William MOFFET, Labourer, from Terryhoogan\bm married Agnes O'NEILL, Weaver, from Auglish\bm in the Parish of Aghaderg on 26 November 1858. William's father is shown as 'William MOFFET, Mason'. William and Agnes went to live in Glasgow where they were later joined by William's young brother James and each Census showed they were born in Ireland. Each of their Death Certificates showed their parents were William MOFFAT and Agnes WATSON and I have searched and searched for them without success. As a note of interest both William and James had children named William and Agnes - and maybe Annie CLARK was their cousin. I am searching for James but so far there is no evidence of a marriage, and it is difficult without this information. Any help would be really appreciated, and I am happy to exchange information on their families down to the present day. Best wishes from Moira in New Zealand.
I just realized those Kilcoo Athy notices, birth, death marriage that I have been posted are from Kilcoo in COUNTY KILDARE, Sorry! Nan

The deceased woman retained all her faculties till the last, and enjoyed the best of health till within three days of her death. After bashing my head on many brick walls, I have decided to start looking at as many JACKSONs as I can find in Ireland in the 1600s. My reasons are self serving. I know that my particular JACKSONs came over to Ireland in that century, although which particular batch they belonged to, I haven't a clue. Most of these JACKSON records included beneath will be ruled out as significant to me in the long run, but may be significant for others. Many of them may have been mainly in Antrim or Down or Carlow or goodness knows where else – but they still had links to Dublin as well. SEE: http://www.thesilverbowl.com/history/JACKSON-1600Dublin-COI-BMDs.html I would be beyond grateful if others can add to this. I will be working on the 1700s set of records next. They will take longer as there are about ten times as many of them by then. Thanks, Sharon Oddie Brown -- Sharon Oddie Brown Roberts Creek, BC, Canada.
