Darryl and Teresa, I took a look at Griffins Valuation, all of this surname in Clonduff Parish were spelled "McLoughlin" Here they are with the townland after them: Eleanor Ballychoshone Upper Neal Ballykeel Felix Ballykeel Mary Anne Ballykeel Terence Ballynagappoge Patrick Ballynagappoge Henry Ballyweely Patrick Ballyweely Edward Ballyweely Patrick Lenish Edward Lenish Edward Lenish Eleanor Lenish Mary Lenish Patrick Lisnamulligan There were 11 Gribbins in Clonduff Parish, 9 of them in Ballykeel and 2 in Ballymaghery 3 Gribbons one each in Ballygorian More, Islandmoyle and Leitrim 1 Gribben in Cleomack LDS has a film on parish records for Clonduff, but I don't know if it is too late for your search: It has baptisms, marriages and funerals 1850-1881. This is the description from the LDS catalog online at familysearch.org: St. John the Evangelist Church served as the Parish Chapel of Clonduff. It is located in the townland of Ballymaghery, village of Hilltown. Other Catholic Chaples in Clonduff Parish were St. John the Baptist, Ballygorian Beg, and Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Cabragh. Ros Davies site has several entries for Clonduff McLaughlins including this one: > Margaret of Ballykeel; died 1842 aged 76; mother of Michael; buried > Cabra Catholic graveyard Ros has more information available on the churches in Clonduff here: > http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~rosdavies/CHURCHES/A- > I.htm#Clonduff Good luck. I wonder if anyone on the list who lives near the catholic church at Teconnaught would be willing to have a look for a headstone for me. I am told there is a Lizzie McDowell who died c. 1944 buried in the graveyard across the road from the chapel. I'm not sure exactly where or even who is buried with her but believe her husbands name was David. Regards Pete.
Would any kind soul out there possibly be able to help me. I have hit a BIG brickwall will my McLaughlin side. I have finally found info on a son of John MCLAUGHLIN and Ann GRIBBON. His name is Michael MCLAUGHLIN, their eldest son. His gravestone say's: he was born 1837, he was a native of Parish Clanduff, Co.Down, Ireland. I haven't been able to find anything on this family before they arrived her in Canada. I am hoping with this new found info I might be able to fill in some gaps. Any help would be so very much appreciated. Teresa

My ancestors are William Moffitt who married Jane Pickering on 14 Mar 1816, Magheralin Down. I believe William, Wesley and Charlotte Moffitt may have been children of thiers but think they may have been born in Horton, Nova Scotia. I am trying to find info on when Wm and Jane came to Ireland or left Ireland. Supposedly Wm was born in Scotland and Jane possibley England or Scotland. Other spellings include Moffat/Moffet. Thanks for any help.

Hi Bev, I would love a look up for a marriage record between James O'Hare of Warrenpoint/Rostrevor area (Clonallon or Kilbroney townland) and Mary McPolin. Marriage probably took place in January of 1855. She is referred to as Poland, and Pollen in some of the birth records I have and got a license for marriage under the name I gave you. Thank you for any help you can give. Judy McKeon ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com
Ok here goes for your offer Bev. I don't know which part of DOWN my GGGreat Grandfather was born but he was born in DOWN, IRELAND. JAMES DRAKE born about 1787 give or take 5 years either way. I am not sure but think he married a MARY NEWBY in CUMBERLAND UK later on after moving to LIVERPOOL, UK. If you are able to find his birth and/or his family that would be a bonus. I think he had three sons in UK, JOHN, THOMAS & MOSES. JOHN DRAKE is my line and I do have info from there on. Kind Regards, Leonie.
