Bev, What you are doing is such a great thing, not only giving new names for people to look at, when they may not have had some of them till now, but also giving them areas to look in. Their next step would possibly to look before, in tithe applotments and freeholders records (free at proni) and after, in Griffiths Valuation and for later marriages and births, in the 1901 Census. I love this new era of sharing! There is so much more available than there was when I first started my search. Bev, I second Claire's remarks. I'm new to Irish genealogy. I also do Scottish, Cornish, and Welsh genealogy, and am just so amazed how each has such different records available, and different terms to learn, in addition to the usual historical background and language/spelling problems to sort out. The best thing about this hobby is not only do we learn about our ancestors, but we learn life lessons in how wonderful people are in sharing their time and effort to help others. I try to pass along that sharing attitude in helping others I met, remembering how in so many ways I've been helped by strangers who seem more like friends. I seek information about a family that came to Lisbane/Saintfield area of County Down in the late 1600s, possibly from Ayrshire in Scotland. According to private accounts, Hugh McKee (b.1660) was granted land there by King William after 1689, although the land was later confiscated by the Marquis of Down. I have nothing to substantiate this. Can anyone shed light on these events, as well as the possible birth of Hugh Jr. in 1695? Thanks, Roy

Dear Bev May I impose and ask if you could see if Ann Jane who married a George Alderdice in 1864 had the surname of Quinn. Taking your generosity a step further would it be possible also to see if you have a Patrick Crane/Crean marrying Mary Quinn in 1859/1860 - the reason for this last request is that I have been given two conflicting years for this marriage, one from the Church in question and the other from the UHF and I would love another opinion from Emerald Ancestors. Thanking you for your kind offer of look-ups. Eileen
