    3. Hello list, Information has just come to hand regarding my husband's CUMMIN or CUMMINS ancestors. Does anyone out there have information and/or connections to this family, please? Ross CUMMIN/CUMMINS was born ca 1816 in Saintfield, County Down. He was the son of Thomas CUMMIN and Margaret unknown, both from County Down. Ross CUMMIN emigrated to New Zealand during the 1840's where he married Bethiah Thompson who was born 1815 , also in Saintfield, County Down. It is Thomas CUMMIN and his wife Margaret whom I know nothing of, so any information at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Jenni Gibson (Melbourne, Australia) --------------------------------- Make the switch to the world's best email. Get the new Yahoo!7 Mail now.

Mine married Brown's, ?MacKay's (all spellings I have found) and the Renwick's or Rennick's as ancestry.com has them spelled. Could be more names that I haven't run across yet. 3. I don't know if this will be of interest to you Carolyn, but I have a book of Gravestone Transcriptions of Annahilt graveyard, which includes the Cowan names buried there. COWAN (On granite which is breaking up and very hard to read, just outside the large Cowan enclosure). Here rest the remains of Jas. Cowan (Kinallin) died 28 Feb 1789, aged 24 years. Jno. Cowan 21st July 1804, , aged 50. Abigail Cowan 25, Do (I have no idea what Do means but is is followed by 1805, aged 75. Wm Cowan 2 Aug 1814, aged 94 (Pritilon of Norlan 12 Oct. 1822, aged 94). COWAN (Single headstone in very large enclosure). erected to the memory of Lieut William Cowan who departed this life the 17th February 1840 aged 82 years. Also his wife Mary Cowan who departed this life 8th July 1843 aged 75 years. COWAN (Memorial tablet on South wall of nave). In memory of John and Janet Cowan; Andrew and Mary Cowan; Samuel Cowan; Capt. Andrew Cowan, 101st Regt.; Mary Cowan , wife of Capt. COSBY, J.P.: James Cowan, J.P., B.L., Sir E.P. Cowan, H.M.L Co. Antrim; Lieut.A.E.A. Cowan, 2nd K.D. Gds.; Andrew James Cowan, A.D. 1630 - 1909 (that looks like a mistake probably 1830 - 1909. "Like leaves are the generations of man". and that is all for Cowan in the graveyard. Kinallin (I think it is more often spelt Kinallen) is not far from Annahilt.
