That is really great!...a tad bit hard to navigate, and that's at first I'm sure.. for those of us who can not get enough of the images of Ireland...this is simply wonderful, and some of the pictures are really beautiful. Thanks again Judy. Hi Nan: I have told you previously of my Doran connection; Bernard Doran;b. 1834 m. Susannah Keenan; b. 1838, Co. Down, IRL (married in Maryport, Cumberland, ENG. They had several children Patrick (1866), Peter, George, Sarah, Bernard (1878), and John all born in Maryport. I have found John living with other Keenan relatives in Maryport as well. A cousin of Susannah Keenan, a Margaret Keenan married an Edward Rice in the Dearham, Cumberland, ENG area. Not sure of dates. Don't know if this helps at all. Ken, Next time i am talking with my cousin I will ask him if he knows anyone who would know more about the origins of the house. He knew of the Neills because his mother was a Neill, distantly related as i understand. I googled "BT Telecom" to find "John Graham" but there were no Grahams by by that name at that location. They must be what they call ex-directory. Gord, I have some hand written information that is difficult to read, but it states that the house was owned by George Robert Meill (or maybe Neill) prior to around 1981 when the present owner bought it. My wife's ancestor, Gawn Murdock, built the house in 1827. Hi Maureen I tried to contact you off list, but the email bounced back. I've been in touch with someone in Co. Down who passed along a little bit of information about a HUNTER family burial ground in Moneyrea. It may or may not be useful. If you wish, you can contact me directly and I'll forward it to you. It seems that after his death he left the property to an ANN ORR, I was surprised at this as he had a son living until 1912. Would anyone be researching the surname ORR as it is not familiar to my family lines. Perhaps there is someone out there who has a HUNTER-ORR connection. Regards. Maureen in Australia.
Around 1830 the Moneyreagh reading Society was commenced and I suspect out of this a local school developed. None of my reference books mention an academy there although there is a primary school there now. ----- Original Message ----- From: "ppaws" <ppaws@netnet.net> To: "Irish" <NIR-DOWN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, February 04, 2008 9:39 AM Subject: [NIR-DOWN] MONEYREAGH ACADEMY > Could some one tell me where MONEYREAGH ACADEMY was and what type of > school it was. > And Thanks for the help! > Pat Wegener > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > NIR-DOWN-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message

Dear Stan, many thanks for this information, it is certainly a route to go down soon, but by the 1911 census, my grandfather was in a school for the deaf in Dublin. I wrote to the school - St Joseph's in Cabra - and they gave me information that he was there from 1908 to 1918 and that his father was dead! Now it could have been that his father was away in Scotland! I think I need to follow this up. Many thanks and kind regards, Michael ----- Original Message ----- From: <nir-down-request@rootsweb.com> To: <nir-down@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, February 03, 2008 8:07 PM Subject: NIR-DOWN Digest, Vol 3, Issue 71 > > > Today's Topics: > > 2.
