    3. Dear Listers I've just been looking at some old files for my HUNTER family in regard to the Co Down Tithe Applotments Books 1823-1838 and was told some time ago that my MATTHEW HUNTER-Killinchy-Ballycloughan 1833, MATTHEW HUNTER-Killinchy-Ravara-1833 and JAMES HUNTER-Drumbo-Ballycowan 1829 were noted in them. Years ago I had some films out from the LDS in regard to Registry of Deeds but after viewing a few films in trying to find my Hunters I found it daunting and didn't come up with much. Thought I would have a go at trying to find my HUNTERS in the Tithe Applotment Books. Could anyone please direct me how to go about finding the films in the LDS library. ALSO I have a marriage between a MARGARET STERLING and WILLIAM MCGEOUGH in Banbridge in 1848. William's father is recorded as being a DAVID MCGEOUGH occupation farmer. Now 1848 is after the Tithe Applotments so I wouldn't find David there but would he be found in the Griffiths Valuation? If so can anyone point me how to access it. Many thanks. Maureen

    3. Hi All, I tried on my iMac and got server busy so I tried again, this time using my windows pc with winXP and internet explorer 7 and still got the server busy message. Perhaps the site is not equipped to handle an excess of traffic. 3. Strange Nan, I just clicked on the link you sent and it took me right to the search page. How about trying googling "internment.net" like I did and see if you go in another door. It is odd how these things occur. I am in England, dont know about you, but sometimes you seem to get geographical glitches. I do hope this help. Pen One other thing to try is to momentarily turn off your virus software and try to get on the site. If you succeed the turn it back on again. I find this sometimes works for me. Good luck

    2. Someone gave Dromore as a resource for tithes in Dromara. I believe these are two different parishes. If you don't find what you are looking for in Dromore. Check this out. Regarding Nan's question about internment sites. I had the same problem, It seems to work fine until you put in a search and then it says too busy. I tried from your link, Nan and also from google. Same result both ways. I also noted that in searching for a cemetery in Denver Colorado only three were listed and those were three of the less frequently used cemeteries in the area. 3. Margaret - Do you have any Shortts in your line that came to the States?  I have some good friends (Connecticut) named Shortt.   Grit --- On Mon, 3/2/09, Dr. B. A. I have been researching Short(t)s in Ulster for about 30 years and found one to-day I did not know of in the Banbridge £10 Electors which you just put on your web site. It is a Moses Short in Moybrick, Dromara Parish. Is there any place on the net where the Tithe Applotments for this Parish can be found? Does anybody on the list have those mentioned in the Tithes in that Parish or do I need to order the film from the FHC in order to check that time frame? Or has anyone else any ideas of how to follow this one up? A Moses Short has not turned up in all my research over the years.
