I have a DUDDY family who migrated to Scotland. I don't know where in Ireland they originated. The family is Henry DUDDY ( died pre Jun 1873) in Ireland, and his wife Mary McIver, who died after 1881 in Carluke, Scotland. They are in the 1881 census in Carluke, Scotland. Their daughter Margaret DUDDY born 1849/50 in Ireland, married my great grandfather Bernard DEVINE, who also emigrated form Derry. He was a coal miner. They were married in Jun 1873 in the parish chapel in Carluke. There were quite a few of the DUDDY family settled in Carluke, as shown in the census, most likely from the same family. If anyone can give e some insight as to the Derry origins of Bernard DEVINE, ( 1843 - 1925) and his parents , James DEVINE and Agnes McLauglin, both of whom died in Ireland before 1873, I would be very glad to receive this information.
