Dear folks, After dozens of years of searching, we believe we have finally found our homeland in Ireland - in Dungiven! This would be an especially poignant discovery at this time because my husband (whose ancestors these are) has been very ill this winter, having undergone removal of three malignant brain tumours in late January. His fervent dream is to find his origins in Ireland. So we are hoping that r old records exist and someone will be so very kind as to verify for us: Baptism of James Devlin, born May 17, 1830, son of William Devlin (also spelled Develin), born about 1803, and his wife Elizabeth Downes (also spelled Downs). and/or wedding (Church of Ireland) of William Devlin to Elizabeth Downes -- before 1830. William and Elizabeth (Downes) Devlin migrated to Quebec, Canada sometime before June 1835. He died in Quebec, Feb 14, 1838, age 35 years. With fingers crossed so hard, the white knuckles are showing, We await replies Sandra and Rod Devlin in Canada
