    1. Re: [Derry] ELLIS - LONDONDERRY ?
    2. Hello there Leigh: I am a real live Ellis (ex Londonderry) maybe I can be of some assistance. This whole genealogical thing fascinates me .. and even your NAME , although spelled differently is similar to mine, Evelyn Lee Ellis. Unlike many folks who are very organized in their research, I am not, and don't make the search a second "career". But you were asking about the Ellis' in Donegal. There was a Phillip Barbazon Ellis Born 8th May 1806 in Donegal, father, was Arthur Ellis and his mother was Jane Barbazon. Phillip apparently had a brother Arthur, born August 1, 1815. Phillip Barbazon Ellis and his wife "Mary" had a son, George Ellis, christened 10 December 1853 in Burslem, St. Paul, Stafford, England. I would also point you to the Parish of Templemore, i.e, St. Columb's Cathedral, I know that there were many Ellises married, Christened, etc., there, and YES , they would probably have been members of the Orange Order. Interesting that your ancestor left a picture of the Battle of the Boyne in his will, because the incredibly beautiful stain glass windows in St. Columb's Cathedral also depict the same thing. I note with great interest how your Ellis family also suffered the same affliction as the rest of us, we were known as the "Ellises with the wandering feet). I don't have time to write further as I must get to work. But have a great day :) Lee Ellis
