Listers, I am new to this list and am looking for Andrew ALEXANDER. His death certificate in NSW Australia 16/10/1893 gives his birth place as Parish of Glendermott, County Derry, Ireland. Father Jacob Alexander mother Francis ? He married in Parish of Glasgow county of Lanark Scotland 27/11/1825 to a Margaret Falconer and he was described as a soldier in the 50th Regiment. He came to Australia with his family on the "Lady Nugent' as a convict guard. He was a member of the Orange Lodge. Is there anyone out there who knows anything about the Orange Lodge or the Alexanders of Glendermott ? Hi Judith I can't pick up with your Alexanders but there some in the townland of Killymallaght, Glendermott Parish, and I have two instances of Alexander/Mitchell marriages that I will send you. There was both a Masonic Lodge and an Orange Lodge at Killymallaght. Please allow me a week to get my information together.
