Looking for information of Alexander Thom(p)son, born in Scotland departed there for Ulster Ireland in 1711. He arrived with his wife Mary and daughter Jannet. He had three other children born in Ireland, Alexander, James about 1716 and Sarah. They lived in Ireland until 1725 when they departed for North America. His wife Mary may have died in Ireland as he is shown as a widower on his arrival in North America. His haveing lived in Derry County, Meghera Parish is based a lot on an entry found in Scotch Irish Pioneers in Ulster and America VI, Hometowns of Ulster famlies 1691-1716, which read "Alexander Thomson, R.E. 171, Maghera, Derry" His occupation was that of a Cordwainer, a leatherworker.
