    1. [NIR-DERRY] Boyds Mountain, Co Derry

    3. While doing some other work on my map for Aghadowey, I just happened to look to the left of the map and saw marked "Boyds Mountain" about a kms south of the B66 Road between Aghadowey and Limavady in the forested area. Would anyone know who this Mountain is called after please? As the Boyd did not go to Ireland until 1590 - Letterkenny is the first location I can currently find - and most likely not until after 1609 in Co Derry. So why would an Irish Mountain be called after a Scot? Mike Boyd Historical Committee, HBS
