    1. [NIR-DERRY] Archibald & Elliott 1700's and Before, Londonderry and Scotland
    2. My ancestor, Maj. David Archibald, was born in County Londonderry on 20 September 1717, and married Elizabeth Elliott on 19 May 1741, presumably in County Londonderry. She was born in County Londonderry on 10 June 1720. David appears to have been born in either Colraine or Maghera(not certain whether it was the Parish of or the village of). Does anyone have records with the exact locations for these two births and marriage? Can anyone tell me who holds these records today? Material I have found indicates this Archibald family may have come to Ulster from Dumfries / Dumfries and Galloway and the Elliotts may have come from Roxburghshire somewhere near Hermitage Castle.Has anyone matched up the Archibalds and Elliotts from Londonderry with these families, and if so, what are the exact locations. I'm guessing that these families came to Londonderry around 1600, so there would be several generations. Any help will be most appreciated, particularly with Elliott.
