    3. Hello Alice. Although I am not searching for any McClary's I am interested in any names which could sound like Mulleary. Depending on the accent of the speaker and the listener, Mulleary and McClary could sound similar or even almost the same. There are several other surnames which fit into this group. I am looking to find out what the proper surname for an Ellen Mulleary, who I have in my family tree, should be. I can not find any trace of her birth in Ireland. I am told that Mulleary is not a real Irish surname and the spelling I have appears to have been corrupted. So I am trying my luck to see if you have any ideas which you might care to share with me about the possibilities. The family has that Ellen married Patrick Reid in 1871 in Carrick-on-Shannon, that they lived in Derry probably the parish of Clondermont until 1875. They arrived at The Bluff, New Zealand, on board the Christian McAusland in August 1875 with two sons Edward and Patrick. Regards Greg in New Zealand. ----- Original Message ----- From: <nir-derry-request@rootsweb.com> To: <nir-derry@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, May 28, 2007 7:01 PM Subject: NIR-DERRY Digest, Vol 2, Issue 74 > > > Today's Topics: > > 1.
