Hi Cliff, To find out about the M3 motorway and Tara and archaeological excavations check out the NRA site. NRA (National Roads Authority) is the government body with the task of maintaining our national road network and building a modern motorway network. You will see that the M3 will be further from Hill of Tara than the existing national route. If you click on the Archaeological tab you will find reference to the discovery of a pre-Viking and Viking settlement found as a result of the building of the N25 Waterford by-pass.
