    3. Rachel: Thank you for your kind effort in looking up 1796 marriage of George Kirk and Jane Bell Thompson. I have no documentation of this date, but I do have specific details and date of Kirk's death in this country. So I suspect the marriage date information is "suspect". Are there other churches in Derry where a marriage might have taken place? I'm not asking for a look-up but simple information on alternatives to a marriage in the cathedral. Many thanks again for your look-up effort, Marian ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rachel" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, March 01, 2003 2:45 AM Subject: [Derry] George KIRK/Jane Bell THOMPSON > Marian > > I had a look in the Cathedral registers but this marriage didn't appear. > Are you sure about your dates- married 1794, died 1913? > > Rachel > snip................., is there any way of > > verifying or otherwise checking a reported marriage in Derry long ago? 3. Hello, We spent a restful night at lovely B&B in Claudy the night before entering Derry two years ago. And while I'm on the subject, is there any way of verifying or otherwise checking a reported marriage in Derry long ago? An ancestor, George Kirk, is said to have married a Jane Bell Thompson there in 1796. Have no idea where; nor any knowledge of their lives in Derry prior to marriage. I have a fairly good history of his life in Pennsylvania, USA, where he died in 1913. Thanks for any clues, directions, or advice on how to look. 2. I was pleased to see a reference to some folks from Ballykelly. I've been trying to locate information about James STIRLING, merchant, of Ballykelly Co Londonderry, who was an executor for the1764 Will of my ancestor, John HENRY of Derrykeighan parish, Co Antrim. James Stirling's eldest son & heir was John Stirling, Esq. The other executor of the 1764 Will was John THOMPSON, gent., of Muckamore, Co Antrim. If anyone knows who these Stirling's of Ballykelly might be, please let me know. Many thanks, Colleen McClain In a message dated 2/26/03 10:31:27 PM, [email protected] writes: << I am very keen to get in contact with anyone researching the descendants or ancestors of Hugh CONNOR (b.1792 Ballykelly, son of John CONNOR and Betty GRAHAM) who married Anne STEWART (b.1793 Ballykelly, daughter of John STEWART and Jane THOMSON). 3. Hello Robert I am hoping you may be able to do me a favour please. Could you tell if my forebear James BLAIR and his brother Abraham are mentioned. They were from Aghadowey but moved in to Derry when their homes were burnt and families threatened. Thank you in anticipation Ron Blair Warragul Australia ----- Original Message ----- From: "robbie williams" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, February 24, 2003 8:36 AM Subject: Re: [Derry] The Fighters of Derry 1688-1689 > > Hi Liam, > > Are you having a little joke perhaps?
