Betsy, just to say that I had the same problem with one of the CD's I got from Ancestry. After a lot of letters to them and a phone call they sent me another which worked beautifully. Hi Betsy Could you please look up my great-great-grandfather WILLIAM HASLETT in the Londonderry Census. He was born abt 1812. It could of been spelt HAZLETT HASLITT Thank you Cheryl NZ
Hi Betsy Sorry to hear having so much trouble with the CD. If you should however get it to work and you could find the time I would appreciate a lookup. My maternal grandmother was Jane (Bradley) Turner. She was born 1879 at Tobermore in Londonderry. Her parents William Bradley and Isabella WINDLE were married November 23, 1877 at Kilcronaghan in the disrict of Magharafelt, Londonderry. The fathers of William and Isabella were James BRADLEY, farmer and James WINDLE, farmer. Might you have any possible entries for their grandfathers since only head of household is given. I would assume that James and James would likely be little more than born in 1831. BRADLEY is quite common I believe, but the WINDLE apparently not. Good luck and thanks for trying if you get the CD to work. I have listed your names and will be in touch when I finally get this CD to give up it's data.Be aware tho' that the 1831 census only gives Head of household's name, and number of Males and females in that household - no names or ages for any of the members of the household. Hi Donna, Since I am descended from Hugh Connor and Anne Stewart, I was quite excited to read your email to the Derry List. Before I begin on my line , I'd like to inform you that Martha born 1815 married John Millar before coming to Australia in 1838 aboard the "Parland." Hugh Connor born 1821 married Ann Martha Cameron in 1845. Their second daughter daughter Mary Ann born 1847 married John Moorehead in 1866, and they lived in the Clarence River area until John died in 1886. Mary and some of her children then moved to Sydney where she died in 1927. What is your direct line ? I'd be happy to share what I have on my line. Hi Listers, I am subscribing temporarily to suggest to everyone that they pay a visit to the New Orleans, Louisiana rootswb site at: Orleans Parish Archives http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/la/orleans.htm I am one of the coordinators of the site and have been transcribing the admission records to the public hospital there (called Charity Hospital even today) for the 1850s. New Orleans was one of the major ports for immigration in the 1850s, so that amny people from Ireland settled in New Orleans or else passed through the city on the way to points further north such as St. Louis, Cincinnati, and parts of Iowa and Tennessee. Not only I am transcribing the admission for certain surnames, I have recently begun to do the records from 1851. I am finished with January and February so far - a total of 3400 names or so. I am joining various rootsweb lists for the various birthplaces I find in the admission records and suggesting people researching that location visit our site. On occasion, I have been contacted by someone who has been able to find their long lost relatives thanks to my postings like this. I am not going to stay on the list, however if you have any questions, please contact me at [email protected] I cannot answer all inquiries, but I will do my best. Good luck with your research.
