    3. Dear Betsy, Do you have any novel ideas for finding a name in these thousands of MCCLOSKEYs? I have written you before looking for my greatgrandfather , Arthur McCloskey who named his first son, Arthur Augustus McCloskey. Is there any McCloskey who would try to sort out the family name? Since my greatgrandfather was supposed to have blue eyes, he might have had red hair, too. Thank you. Doris McC. 3. "Inchaluin" will be Inchaleen, which is sometimes spelled Inshaleen. It is in the civil parish of Errigal. It was owned by the Ironmongers company. Inchaleen is included in the 1840 visitation of Garvagh, spelled Inshalleen, which includes 5 Craig families. I have quite a bit of information on this townland. Please e-mail me at [email protected] if you would more on Inchaleen. Trienaltenagh, as it is spelled now, is a townland in the civil parish of Desertoghill. Remember that as late as the mid 1800s, the spellings of townlands were far from standardised. Hope this helps! 1. [Derry] 1831 Census Londonderry
    2. Please, before you are exhausted, David, how about McSheffery/rey/ry or Gault? I don't understand all the Irish research, but I know the families were in Coleraine, Macosquin, Articlave. Coleraine is the Barony ?? Macosquin and Articlave , the Civil Parishes ??? McSheffery/rey/ry is not a common Irish surname. Any hint of them being there ?? My gr. father was born in Coleraine in 1859, so hopefully we can track his family earlier in county Londonderry. Thank you so much ! Lois W.
