Anne I'm puzzled by your reference to a certificate. Civil registration for protestant marriages didn't start until 1845 in Ireland. Presumably what you have is an entry from a church register unless 1836 is typing error! If it is a copy of the entry in the church register, that would give the name of the church and its denomination - Presbyterian or CofI. (I'm not sure what info would appear on a Roman Catholic wedding entry). This info is often a far more detailed 'clue' than the parish. I assume that, if they got married in Maghera, then the bride came from there and the groom from Limavady. I have folks I research in and around Limavady and Drumachose and Derramore Pres Church. If you let me have your names I'll see if anything I've got connects. tira: i don't know any names yet past craig, it is possible though because they were all living in limavady, ross craig married a elizabeth ??? , i am trying to find what her maiden name was, i believe they were married in about 1820, possibly a few years give or take, they had all daughters, jane, elizabeth, isabella (isabella married james barber) and sarah, as i get further on in my research i will let you know what other surnames i come up with. regards, teresa

Hello Robyn The Parish of Glendermott is the East side of Londonderry City known locally as the "Waterside" It also stretches out into the county a little bit. If you go to www.ulsterancestry.com you can download a free map there of the County and you will find a link to multimap which will let you zoom in on the Parish. The detail is very good.
