I was told recently that 'Dynes' was probably Thomas Dynes' grandfather. From what I have learnt it didn't appear to have been a common name. This same person also told me that Gardiner was a weaver in Tamnaficarbet but I also have him listed as a railway pointsman. So it certainly appears that the connection is there.
