Two brother who were born in Gibraltar according to the Census were admitted to the Duke of York School in Chelsea which was for chidlren of servicemen. Joseph EMERTON admitted 5 July 1859 age 5 years and died 18 May 1863. Richard EMERTON admitted 19 July 1864 aged 8. He left 5 Nov 1869 as Army Volunteer of 11th Regiment of Foot. Their parents were Joseph EMERTON and Eliza ??? Jospeh snr, was with the 13th Regt. of Foot when the boys were at the school. Would love to know where Joseph Snr was when the boys were in School but more where Richard ended up with the 11th. Any help or guidance really appreciated.
