    3. Hello Bobbie My Darraghs are John born 1778 Tamnaficarbet, Lurghan, parents and siblings unknown. He was transported to Australia in 1812, having been tried at Antrim Assizes 1809 as an Irish Rebel. He had married Mary Tipping in 1800 , she was born abt 1782 , Ballynamony Lurgan. Their children were John b abt 1801, Henry b abt. 1802, Ruth b abt. 1803, Isabella b abt. 1804, William b abt 1805, and Felix b abt 1806. Felix came to Australia to join his father in 1841, with his family - wife Alice McGee, Charles aged 9 born in Silverwood, Seagoe, Margaret Letitia 2 born in Silverwood, Seagoe, and baby John Joseph born in Belfast in 1840. Felix and Alice were married Shankhill, Co Down in 1830> I know nothing of the family who remained in Ireland. Charles may have returned to Ireland as he ran away (in Australia) after a beating from his father Felix, and I can find no marriage or death for him in Australian records. 3. Joanne and Armagh List - My Isabella DARRAGH (born about 1839 Dromore, Co. Down, Ireland) was the daughter of a John Darragh (born about 1794 also in Dromore) and possibly Jane MCCOUGHAN (who married a John DARRAGH in Dromore about 1819 from the IGI). John came to the U.S. with his son and traveled from New York City to Aurora, Illinois, where I believe he died sometime after 1870. The son and his family had moved to California by 1880. John's wife was living in Ireland at the time he emigrated but did not go the U.S. I've been told by an older family member still living in Ireland that the "ancestral home" of this DARRAGH family was Glengormley in Co. Antrim. I would be delighted to hear from anyone researching Darraghs in N. Ireland, off list if they're not in Armagh. Joanne - I don't see any obvious connection in our Darragh lines, but I don't have much information before 1800. I'll keep you in mind as I do research!
