It is a bit disappointing that Loughgilly Parish is probably where the McMurray husband came from if the two came over together. I had been expecting him to be in the Lurgan area which is thick with related McMurrays. However, it is exciting to hear from a descendent. I talked with Mary Cotton a while ago. She put the tree on Family Tree on Rootsweb, but she did not know of your Harry. She listed 12 other children of Thomas and Isabelle. It was Harry's sister Agnes who married my Stewart McCleary. Stewart's father, Stewart brought most of his children over from Corcreany, Donaghcloney, Co. Down and they have a large tree in Australia. Since there were a few intermarriages among the families in Victoria, do you have any other relatives on Mary's tree? Mary Cotton's line through Henry McCleary was somehow related to mine in Ireland and then we saw another connection in Victoria involving Corcreany Renfrews. I gather that all these families had government assistance for transportation and were part of a colonization plan. Do you know anything about that? My family went to the US and didn't mention family in Australia except maybe gt gt uncle David James McCLeary b. 1905. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
