Hi List, I'm looking for any information on the surname OAKMAN in Co. Armagh. The Oakman surname appears predominantly in Counties Antrim and Armagh. Some emigrated to Canada, others to the US, and three to Australia. Armagh served with the British Army for 21 years and was residing in North America by 1838. Caroline OAKMAN born abt 1846, or Ardress, Co. Armagh to William OAKMAN. Caroline married Joseph McCLELLAND in 1867. Robert OAKMAN, a "medical doctor" who was deceased by 1859 when his wife Margaret and daughters are found living in New York City. This couple had three daughters, all born Co.
